During the past year, ACT! DOO Skopje through the USAID funded project Development of Regional Energy Markets implemented by TetraTech contributed to the project or country achievements in 2020, including:

• Completed two tenders of 56 MW capacity of solar energy using premium enough to supply electricity to a town of 1,100 households

• Introduced Guarantees of origin (Green certificates) with the aim of further stimulating the Renewable Energy market

• Established the Nominated Electricity Market Operator NEMO in line with the European Union requirements, making possible electricity market coupling with EU member states and integrating with the EU electricity market

• Developed Manual on conducting tendering process for premiums for renewable energy in support of increasing investment in renewable energy which will be used by the Government for the new tenders for awarding premiums for RE

• Adopted Energy Efficiency Law that is fully aligned with EU Directives on Energy Efficiency and Energy Performance of Buildings

• Increased capacity for implementation of the Energy Efficiency Law by training municipal officials and environmental and market inspectors held to introduce new provisions of the Energy Efficiency law 

The implementation of the project continues in the new 2021 which should bring additional new project achievements.
